Your Role as a Support Worker

As a Support Worker, you will support individuals with intellectual disabilities in their home and community. You will help create safe, respectful, and engaging daily routines while promoting independence, choice, and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide personal care support, including grooming, dressing, bathing, mobility support, and other daily living needs as required
• Support medication routines according to policy and direction, and assist with household tasks and meal preparation
• Encourage participation in community and home based activities that match individual interests and goals
• Build respectful, supportive relationships with individuals, families, and the broader support team
• Maintain clear, timely records and communicate effectively with supervisors and the team

Personal Care and Privacy

This role includes providing personal care.

What You Need to Bring

Required Certifications and Documents

• Valid First Aid Certificate
• Current Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector Screen completed within the last 6 months
• Adult and Child Abuse Registry Checks completed within the last 6 months
• Current Driver's Abstract
• Valid Manitoba Driver's License Class 5F
• Access to a reliable vehicle for use during all shifts

Education and Experience

• Grade 12 education or equivalent
• Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities is an asset, but not required
• Training will be provided to applicants who demonstrate the right attitude, reliability, and commitment to ethical care

Work Schedule

• A minimum commitment of two permanent shifts per week is required
• Work schedules are determined during the hiring process and cannot be modified after hiring

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent, Casual

Pay: $17.65-$19.68 per hour
