Location: Within one of YMCA BC's main hubs: Lower Mainland, Prince George

Term: Permanent, Full Time

Start Date: As soon as possible

Salary: $60,000-$63,000 annually

Nature & Scope

Reporting to the Director, Child Care Standards & Development, the Coordinator, Curriculum and Compliance is responsible for implementing and monitoring YMCA BC's curriculum, licensing requirements, evaluation processes, and quality standards across all early years and school-age programs. This role will track and analyze compliance data, identify trends, and prepare reports and recommendations to support continuous improvement. Working closely with the Director, the Coordinator also contributes to the evaluation process, ensuring alignment and consistency in curriculum quality.

Major Responsibilities- in this position, you will:

  • Implement and monitor YMCA BC's curriculum, licensing requirements, evaluation processes, and quality standards across all early years and school‑age programs to ensure consistency and alignment with organizational expectations.
  • Maintain a centralized tracking system for curriculum assessments, licensing compliance, and program evaluation data across all regions, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and ease of access for leadership.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to frontline leaders on compliance expectations, licensing requirements, curriculum standards, and corrective actions.
  • Monitor licensing reports, incident logs, curriculum assessment results, and internal audit findings, partnering with operational leaders to follow up on required actions and resolve compliance issues.
  • Analyze compliance and curriculum data to identify trends, risks, or recurring challenges, and prepare recommendations for system-wide improvements.
  • Coordinate the scheduling, collection, and submission of curriculum assessment tools and licensing documentation, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Develop and deliver regular compliance and curriculum summary reports and dashboards for the Director and other internal stakeholders to support strategic decision-making.
  • Support the Director in designing and refining tools, systems, and processes that align with YMCA BC's standards, provincial regulatory requirements, and sector trends.
  • Prepare internal reports and supporting documents required for external applications, audits, inspections, and accreditation processes.
  • Conduct research on best practices in childcare regulatory systems, curriculum evaluation, and quality‑assurance models, and develop action plans to support implementation across programs.
  • Participate in cross‑training to provide additional capacity and backup support for the Development and Reporting functions within the team.
  • Complete required training to conduct licensing compliance assessments and curriculum assessments and carry out assessments as needed to support program quality and readiness.

Qualification-you bring:

  • Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education, Child and Youth Care, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of five years' experience in a licensed child care environment, with strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and curriculum implementation.
  • Strong skills in data entry, report writing, and organization, with the ability to present information clearly and logically.
  • Experience supporting or working within a large, multi‑site organization is an asset.
  • Background in program evaluation is considered an advantage; able to interpret, analyze, and synthesize large volumes of data with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation applicable to child care employers and operators (e.g., Employment Standards, Human Rights, Child Care Act, WorkSafeBC) to help ensure the fair and respectful treatment of staff, volunteers, children, and families.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel to YMCA BC's Early Year and school-age programs across the province. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data tracking or management system
  • Successful candidate will be required to provide 3 satisfactory references 
  • Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record check with a Vulnerable sector search issued no later than six (6) months preceding the start date.
