KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Engineering Division is currently looking for a casual full-time summer student who is enrolled in an engineering program to join us for a busy summer construction season. Work includes general office duties (phone calls, emails, filing of documents), traffic control, traffic counts, assisting with the asphalt and concrete patching program, assisting with monitoring the transit system, working with residents and contractors to complete yard work following construction, and other general duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualified candidates must:
- have completed at least 1 year of an engineering program at a university or college level;
- be able to provide proof of current acceptance or enrolment in full-time post-secondary studies prior to an offer of employment;
- have a valid class 5 driver's license (a copy will be required prior to an offer of employment); and
- provide a satisfactory criminal records check prior to any offer of employment. Candidates are encouraged to obtain this as soon as possible.
Experience working in a construction setting will be considered an asset. Please clearly outline your experience and qualifications as per the above requirements on your resume.
HOURS OF WORK AND RATE OF PAY:
Rate of pay: $42.77 per hour plus 4% vacation pay.
Anticipated start date: May 4, 2026
Duration of employment: Approximately 4 months
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week
