Job Description

SKID STEER OPERATOR

GCS is looking for a Skid Steer Operator / Laborer for work in Red Deer and surrounding areas. This position supports HDD drilling work to upgrade fibre service in residential areas of Red Deer(& surrounding).

RESPONSIBILITIES

To provide some idea of the tasks you may be performing, a list of responsibilities may include:

  • The work scope is backfilling and moving materials for HDD Drilling (fibre) construction;
  • Must be willing to perform manual labor as required (including shoveling and digging);
  • Backfilling;
  • Executing field projects according to instructions provided by the client, project manager and the field supervisor with minimal supervision;
  • Must be able to read locates and drawings;
  • Work with minimal supervision and direction;

  • Execute work in a safety conscious manner;

  • Complete all site documentation as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications for this project are a combination of skills and attitude:

  • 3 years+ operator experience running skid steer;
  • Laborer experience;
  • Physically fit and capable of lifting 50 Lbs.;
  • Strong Work ethic;

  • Neat and diligent in maintaining equipment;

  • Good judgement and problem-solving capacity;
  • Fit to work in a rigorous environment;
  • Ability to work in congested areas in residential neighborhoods;

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

  • A valid Class 5 driver's license;
  • CSTS 2020 certification required
  • Ground Disturbance Level 2 required
