What you will do

CGL and Affiliates

• General legal matters: Owned and leased Property, Regulatory and legislated matters and compliance; Trademarks; Licensing process and compliance; Contract negotiation, review and ongoing compliance; Etc.
• Corporate Policies: Work with HR on policies, procedures, Health and Safety and employee relations issues; Deployment of new regulatory and legislative matters; Best practice on Data security, including SOC II and Privacy, and adherence to changing legal requirements; Etc.
• Risk Management: Business Continuity Management; Privacy Officer; Compliance Officer; Management of the Whistle blower Channel; Annual Business Risk Assessment Process and ongoing reporting
• Maintaining and Managing the Group P&C Insurance Coverage matters; Policy Renewal; Claims; E & O Reporting and oversight
• Due diligence and M&A activities as required

What you will bring

• You’re a certified professional. The successful candidate must have been called to the Bar in Ontario.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant legal work experience (law firm or in-house)
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with experience simplifying and resolving complex problems
• Highly focused with attention to detail and ability to collaborate well with others.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a practical solution-oriented approach
• Demonstrated superior skill in legal drafting, including agreements and contracts.
• Superior organizational and time management skills with experience handling multiple priorities and requests.
