NVA Canada is looking for a Procurement Category Specialist to join our Canadian Support Centre team based in Oakville, ON. The Procurement Category Specialist will be responsible for managing and optimizing product/service categories to drive sales and profitability within a 13‑month term employment contract. This role requires strong analytical skills and collaboration with cross‑functional teams including vendors, business partners, marketing, sales, finance, and US teams.


Responsibilities



  • Improve growth and profitability by generating and analyzing reports to determine savings and opportunities for various categories.

  • Analyze data or insights to determine industry and consumer pricing trends.

  • Support long‑term sustainable product category strategies.

  • Implement and execute strategic pricing and internal procurement processes within Canada.

  • Support RFQ process, negotiations, and provide recommendations.

  • Partner with vendors and build trusting relationships to achieve growth and profitability.

  • Collaborate with Sales, Finance, and Vendors for rebates tracking and other savings opportunities.

  • Respond to internal inquiries and assist stakeholders with requirement gathering (Retriever system).

  • Report and track COGS with Finance.

  • Negotiate and execute renewals and new contractual agreements.

  • Promote automation and process efficiencies with US and internal teams.

  • Support Oracle system usage.

  • Stay abreast of industry and market trends and best practices.


Qualifications



  • 3‑5 years of experience in Category Management/Procurement.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with vendors and internal departments.

  • Proficient with MS Office and strong Excel skills (VLookup/Pivot Tables/Formulas).

  • Demonstrated analytical skills.

  • Bachelor of Commerce Degree.

  • SCMP designation is an asset.

  • Experience with Oracle and Quickbase is a plus.

  • Knowledge of Power BI and SQL.
