Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Payroll Administrator to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely compensation for employees, and maintaining compliance with company policies and relevant regulations. This role requires proficiency with various payroll and accounting software systems, along with strong data entry and analysis skills. The Payroll Administrator will play a vital role in supporting human resources functions related to payroll and accounting operations.
Responsibilities
- Process payroll accurately and efficiently using QuickBooks and TelPay
- Manage data entry related to employee hours, wages, deductions, and benefits
- Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare reports for management review
- Maintain employee records related to compensation, benefits, and tax information
- Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local payroll regulations
- Assist with accounts payable and receivable tasks as needed
- Collaborate with Office Manager to ensure proper documentation of employee changes
- Support audit processes by providing necessary payroll documentation and reports
- Stay updated on payroll laws and best practices to ensure ongoing compliance
Requirements
- Proven experience with payroll processing using software such as QuickBooks
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles including account reconciliation, bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable
- Proficiency in data entry with high accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent analysis skills to interpret payroll data and resolve discrepancies
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Basic understanding of human resources policies related to compensation and benefits
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
- Prior experience in payroll administration or accounting is preferred

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.50-$22.00 per hour
