About the Role
We’re looking for a detail-oriented, process-driven co-op student to join our Operations team in a regulated medical device manufacturing environment. In this role, you’ll gain end-to-end exposure across production planning, inventory control, quality compliance, KPI reporting, and continuous improvement.
This is an on-site, hands‑on placement with real responsibility. You’ll work closely with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Engineering, and Finance teams and receive dedicated mentorship throughout your term. This posting is for a 4-month co‑op term beginning in May 2026, with the possibility of extending.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare daily and weekly build plans: pull work orders (WOs) from the ERP system, confirm material availability, and flag shortages or scheduling risks.
- Support work order closeout discipline and reconciliations to maintain accurate production records.
Inventory Management & Warehouse
- Coordinate cycle counts: prepare count sheets, perform counts, reconcile results, and investigate variances and assist with the annual full inventory count.
- Maintain and update supplier information to ensure records are current and accurate.
- Conduct regular 5S audits, red tag events, and visual management updates on the shop floor.
- Perform time studies and basic process mapping to identify bottlenecks and eliminate waste.
Manufacturing Engineering Support
- Collect production data on yields, rework trends, and process capability to support PFMEA and continuous improvement; assist with fixture/tooling organization, and labeling.
Quality & Compliance
- Assist with NCR (Non‑Conformance Report), IMP, and ECO disposition processes.
Project Management
- Assist with ongoing ERP and operational continuous improvement projects.
- Take ownership of discrete project workstreams, coordinating tasks and tracking progress to completion.
What You Bring
- Currently enrolled in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering technology/technician program, or related co‑op.
- Proficient in Excel (PivotTables, XLOOKUP, data cleansing, structured reporting).
- Comfortable working with SharePoint and Microsoft Teams.
- ERP/MRP familiarity (NetSuite preferred) is an asset but not required.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and clear written and verbal communication, comfortable drafting emails, meeting minutes, and tracking documents.
- Interest in manufacturing processes, Lean/5S, and data‑driven problem solving in regulated settings.
- Proactive problem solver who manages priorities and follows SOPs.
- Collaborative team-player with a “roll‑up your sleeves” approach.
- Approved for a full‑time co‑op work term through your academic institution.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Available on‑site in Mississauga for the full duration of the term.
You will be expected to:
- Always follow all PPE requirements and safety procedures.
- Be on your feet for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
What You’ll Gain

- Hands‑on exposure to an ISO 13485 / FDA QSR quality management system.
- Practical ERP experience in NetSuite and process improvement skills.
