As a Lead Bookkeeper, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of client files, mentoring associate bookkeepers, and fostering strong client relationships. You'll be trusted to review and sign off on files, manage communications, and contribute to onboarding and training initiatives—all while embodying our core values.
Key Responsibilities
- Navigate full-service bookkeeping for external businesses with medium to high complexity
- Review and sign off on bookkeeping files, including HSTs, T4s, ROEs, WSIB, year-end adjustments and trust accounting
- Prepare and deliver client reporting as needed
- Manage multiple client deliverables with precision and prioritization
- Lead client onboarding meetings and ensure proper file setup
- Maintain ongoing client correspondence to support file completion
- Support Associate Bookkeepers with file reviews, training, and issue resolution
- Organize and lead team huddles and meetings
- Attend weekly strategy/accountability calls with the Workflow Manager
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of work quality and timelines
- Proven confidence with trust accounting
- Confidence in delivering high-quality work without supervision
- Strong communication skills for client and team interactions
- Sound problem-solving ability with a solutions-focused mindset
- Experience with Karbon, Outlook, QBO, and other bookkeeping software
- Experience with Clio and other legal software considered a strong asset
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment
- 2-5 years experience in law firm or legal environmentÂ

Compensation:
This position offers a starting salary range of $60,000 to $65,000 per year. Compensation will be determined based on the successful candidate's education, relevant experience, and skills.
