Pay Range:

  • Technician roles:
    $17.60–$21.56/hour + 4% vacation pay

  • Project Specialist roles:
    $25.11/hour + 4% vacation pay

Locations:
Positions are available
across Ontario
, including (but not limited to):

Belleville, Essex, Peterborough, Kingston, Welland and other partner locations province‑wide.

About the Role:

The OFAH
Foundation along with partner agencies are hiring motivated and conservation‑minded youth to support the delivery of the
Invading Species Awareness Program (ISAP)
during Summer 2026.

These roles support
environmental field work, invasive species monitoring and management, and community outreach initiatives
across Ontario. Opportunities include both
Technician
and
Project Specialist
level positions, working in partnership with conservation authorities and community organizations.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in conservation while contributing to the protection of Ontario's natural environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Depending on position and location, duties may include:

  • Supporting aquatic and terrestrial invasive species monitoring and control

  • Conducting field work, data collection, and reporting

  • Assisting with stewardship and habitat protection projects

  • Participating in community outreach, education, and public events

  • Representing ISAP at workshops, festivals, and community meetings

  • Working collaboratively with conservation professionals and partners

Eligibility Requirements:

Applicants must have or be able to obtain:

  • Meet the requirements of the
    Canada Summer Jobs Program (

    )

  • Have completed a minimum of one year post-secondary education in Biology, Ecology, Fish & Wildlife, Environmental Science, Natural Resources Management or a related field of study

  • Have an interest in conservation, environmental science, or related fields

  • Be comfortable working outdoors and engaging with the public

  • Valid Class G driver's licence (
    Class G2 is not sufficient
    )

  • Clean driver's abstract

  • Pleasure Craft Operator Card (for locations requiring watercraft operations)

  • OFAH membership (required at time of hire)

  • Criminal record check (required every three years)
