Position: Engineering Manager - Software Delivery & Innovation

Location: Toronto, ON (2 days onsite/ week, flexibility required)

We're working with a well-established fintech leader that plays a central role in Canada's investment infrastructure. They're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a full-stack agile team and drive innovation through emerging technologies and proof-of-concepts.

This is a people-first leadership role with a strong technical focus - ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and loves solving real business problems with technology.

What You'll Do:

• Manage and mentor a cross-functional agile team (Java Developers, QEs, Sr. Data Engineers, and co-ops)
• Lead the end-to-end delivery of high-impact, mission-critical applications
• Collaborate across engineering, architecture, and business teams to drive outcomes
• Champion innovation - lead an internal innovation lab focused on emerging tech, prototyping, and internal enablement
• Prioritize and plan delivery milestones, remove blockers, and ensure accountability
• Bring strategic thinking and adaptability to a changing technology landscape

What You Bring:

• 3-5+ years in engineering leadership roles, including direct people management
• Strong background in Java-based development and modern software delivery
• Familiarity with Azure Cloud (or other major cloud platforms)
• Exposure to architecture, QA leadership, and enterprise-scale software delivery
• Experience working on mission-critical systems (financial services a plus)
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and change in a growing organization
