Overview
This role involves estimating installation costs, providing estimates and quotations, preparing contracts, promoting sales, identifying potential clients, assessing client needs, developing proposals, delivering presentations, conducting sales transactions, handling electronic commerce transactions, providing post‑sale support, troubleshooting equipment and providing customer service.
Responsibilities
- Estimate costs of installing equipment
- Estimate or quote prices, credit or contract terms, trade‑in allowances, warranties and delivery dates
- Prepare sales or other contracts
- Promote sales to existing clients
- Identify and solicit potential clients
- Assess client’s needs and resources to recommend appropriate goods or services
- Develop reports and proposals to illustrate benefits from use of goods or services
- Deliver sales presentations
- Conduct sales transactions, including Internet‑based electronic commerce
- Prepare and administer sales contracts
- Provide input into product design where goods or services must be tailored to client needs
- Consult with clients after sale to provide ongoing support
- Reach out to clients after sale or signed contracts to provide ongoing support
- Review and adapt information regarding product innovations, competitors and market conditions
- Provide clients with presentations on the benefits and uses of goods or services
- Resolve product and service related problems
- Troubleshoot equipment issues
- Provide customer service
- Estimate costs of installing and maintaining equipment or service
- Conduct research on market conditions in local, regional or national areas
