We are looking for an energetic and hardworking Class 1 Driver to join our team!
Job Summary
Reporting to the Terminal Manager, the Class 1 Driver provides daily pick-up and delivery service to/from our Fort McMurray facility. This role requires physical labour, including using a manual pallet jack.
Shift
Monday to Friday; 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Location
Fort McMurray, AB
Key Responsibilities
- Pre-trips equipment daily and reports per company requirements
- Communicates with dispatch to ensure efficient route planning
- Communicates with clients on site to ensure delivery services meets or exceeds expectations
- Delivers loads daily in an efficient and safe manner
- Conducts daily vehicle inspections and reports any problems
- Reports road incidents to the Dispatcher
- Maintains a positive attitude with customers/clients
Qualification Requirements
- Professional attitude when interacting with customers and coworkers
- Experience operating and maintaining a commercial vehicle to DOT safety regulations
- Current Class 1 Driver’s license with clean COMMERCIAL driver’s abstract
- Basic geographical knowledge of Fort McMurray and surrounding areas..
- Experience driving a manual 18-speed transmission required
- Ability to lift freight up to 50 lbs.
- Available to work full time Monday - Friday
- Experience or certification to operate a forklift an asset
- Will be driving Tractor or 5 ton truck when needed
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting wage $35.00/hr
- Comprehensive benefits package available including pension matching program upon successful completion of probationary period.
