We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Chef de Partie to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong background in the food industry, with expertise in meal preparation and food safety. As Chef de Partie, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our kitchen operates efficiently while delivering high-quality dishes that exceed our guests' expectations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and standards.
- Oversee kitchen operations, ensuring all food preparation meets safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, providing guidance on cooking techniques and food handling practices.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as needed to maintain stock.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to health regulations.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service and guest satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in restaurants or similar food service environments.
- Culinary Degree or Red Seal certification an asset.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques including current trends, meal planning, and kitchen operations.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and best practices in food handling.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- A passion for cooking and creativity in developing new dishes is highly desirable.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
