Administrative Assistant

Job Description

The Administrative Assistant plays a key role at CML by supporting the General Manager and Sales Team with customer service, basic bookkeeping, data entry, and research. The Administrative Assistant reports directly to the General Manager. This is a full-time seasonal position with possible extension. Hours are 9am – 5pm weekdays with some Saturdays possible.

Duties

  • Develop and maintain excellent staff relationships and a positive and safe team environment in all aspects of work

  • Provide exceptional service whenever engaging customers

  • Process customer payments using QuickBooks and point-of-sale terminals.

  • Answer phones, take phone messages and serve customers

  • Perform basic data research projects in organized and timely manner

  • Execute basic marketing initiatives such as social media and website postings and/or direct email marketing

  • As with other positions at CML, the Administrative Assistant may at times be assigned other duties as needed to complement the overall team

Experience and Qualifications

  • Excellent basic computer skills and ability to efficiently utilize QuickBooks, MS Office Suite, and basic internet navigation (or willingness to learn)

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Prior experience in woodworking and the lumber industry a definite asset

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, especially during times of peak activity

  • Ability to stand, bend, and lift material throughout the work day

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 5 months

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
