Job Description
**Your Job Will Involve:**
- Writing tax planning notes and helping partners make and carry out tax plans.
- Finding and solving different tax questions.
- Helping with business purchases and checking details about them.
- Checking personal, business, trust, and partnership tax forms.
- Communicating with the Canada Revenue Agency about different tax issues for clients.
- Helping clients during their income tax and GST/HST audits.
- Keeping partners updated about work progress and any problems.
- Learning new tax rules and trends and using this information in your job.
- Guiding and teaching other staff members.
**A Good Candidate Will Have:**
- CPA designation (accounting certification).
- Completed or partly completed the In-Depth Tax Course.
- Experience in tax planning for Canadian Controlled Private Corporations and their owners.
- At least 5 years of experience in Canadian tax work in a public accounting firm, with at least 3 years in a full-time tax job.
- Knowledge of HST (Harmonized Sales Tax) is a plus.
- Strong work ethic and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills, both spoken and written.
- Willingness to learn and research new information.
