Job Description

General Accountability

To manage a market with the objective to generate sales and profits that supports the Sales & Marketing Plan.  Efforts include; customer visitations & solicitations, building long term business relationships, initial investigation of claims and subsequent settlement, facilitation of timely product delivery, pursuit of new potential products that complement our marketing plan, improvement to the product and market mix to enhance sales and profits.

Specific Accountabilities

· To promote products or services supplied by CCCL that produce profits to support the current years business plan in their given market area.

· Regular planned communications with customers, both remotely and in person, and communicate feedback of key issues to CCCL Management.

· Prepare yearly Sales Plans/Forecasts.

· Execute approved sales plan and report on a regular basis variance to forecasted sales and changes in significant customer profiles.

· Be cognizant with significant personnel changes at the customer to ensure interests are maintained.

· Plan, prepare, and negotiate pricing that reflect given market conditions per account for yearly business in addition to daily pricing requests or sales opportunities.

· Report complaints/concerns and promptly settle any commercial issues with support information from internal technical staff.

· Coordinate with quality, purchasing, production scheduling, and shipping to ensure customer needs and expectations are met.

· Monitor finished inventory levels with the priority to minimize aged stock and prevent further production if inventory levels exceed customer demand. 

· Assist customer with their ordering ensuring they are aware of lead times for production, and availability of paint, and substrate.

· Prepare order reconciliation for tolled orders to determine magnitude of scrap after processing and issue credit where scrap allowances have been exceeded.

· Obtain and communicate pertinent information to internal staff in relation to customer specifications and product requirements.

· Support the efforts of the Inside Sales Representative.

· Miscellaneous duties as requested by Director of Sales or other Management.

Character of Supervision

· No direct supervision.

· Provide direction to the Customer Service Representative to support order fulfilment and customer service for their customers. 

Physical Demand 

· Normal walking/sitting associated with office work and plant work, adhering to all safety standards and requirements.

· Ability to deal with the rigors of travel.

· Ability to work extended hours as demanded by job necessities.

Working Conditions 

· Office and plant conditions.

· General working conditions associated with travelling. 

Job Requirements 

· Bachelor's Degree preferred, or sufficient related experience.

· Minimum 2 to 4 years' experience in related steel/paint industry.

· Direct activities of support staff to accomplish set goals.

· Understanding of the technical capabilities of processing lines and products.

· Good oral and written communication skills.

· Well developed negotiating skills.

· Good organizational skills.

· Knowledge of coil coating industry and associated products is an asset.

· Good interpersonal skills to deal with a wide spectrum of internal and external contacts.

· Good driving record and habits.
