Canlan Ice Sports is currently looking for a Sports Shop Supervisor.


This role is currently vacant.


Rate of Pay: $38,000 - $41,000/ year


The Sports Shop Supervisor demonstrates initiative and impeccable customer service skills. They maintain a strong working knowledge of hockey and skating, and direct day to day operations of the Sports Shop ensuring a high level of Customer Service is achieved. This position supervises and schedules team members and maintains responsibility of Sports Shop merchandising, promotions, cost controls, sales targets and assistance in the annual operating plan preparation.


Responsibilities



  • Direct day to day operations of the Sports Shop to achieve a high level of customer service.

  • Supervise and schedule team members.

  • Maintain responsibility for Sports Shop merchandising, promotions, cost controls, and sales targets.

  • Assist in the annual operating plan preparation.


Qualifications



  • Diploma or Certificate in Retail operations (preferred)

  • Completed high school education or equivalent


Abilities, Attributes and Experience



  • Previous retail merchandising and sales experience and excellent customer service skills

  • Demonstrated hockey knowledge, computer skills and cash handling experience

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and customers is also essential

  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours (evenings & weekends)

  • Strong skate sharpening skills

  • Previous team supervision experience (preferred)

  • Previous experience within a sports/recreational environment (preferred)
