Join our Snow Sidewalk Crew immediately and become a vital part of our winter maintenance team In this fast-paced, physically active role, you will be responsible for ensuring safe, clear walkways and pathways during snow and ice conditions. Your proactive efforts will help keep our community safe and accessible, providing a vital service during challenging winter weather. This position offers an energetic work environment where teamwork, reliability, and quick response are essential for success.
Responsibilities
**Please note this is an on call 24/7 position with the option to grow with the team
- Operate snow plows, shovels, and hand tools to clear sidewalks, walkways, and entryways efficiently
- Apply salt or other de-icing materials to prevent ice buildup and ensure safety
- Monitor weather conditions continuously to anticipate snow accumulation or ice formation
- Collaborate with team members to prioritize high-traffic areas and respond promptly to changing conditions
- Perform routine maintenance on snow removal equipment such as blowers, shovels, and power tools
- Conduct safety checks before and after shifts to ensure proper use of tools and equipment
- Report any hazards or damage to property that may require additional attention or repair
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge for operating and maintaining snow removal equipment
- Experience with lawn care, landscape maintenance, or gardening is a plus
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery such as excavators is beneficial
- Knowledge of landscaping, hardscape installation, or irrigation systems enhances versatility
- Ability to work outdoors in cold weather conditions with physical stamina
- Strong communication skills for teamwork and safety coordination
- Prior experience in construction, tree care, or horticulture is advantageous but not required
