Job Responsibilities
Wage Range: $23.19 to $29.93 per hour
Specifications And Training Requirements
- Secondary School Diploma, or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years' experience in Material Handling, Shipping and Receiving in a manufacturing environment – Automotive experience an asset.
- Must be able to multitask in a fast passed environment.
- Good communication and writing skills
- Detailed Oriented
- Forklift and Overhead Crane experience
Shipping & Receiving Operations
- Manage daily shipping and receiving activities to ensure the timely and accurate movement of materials and products.
- Coordinate with internal departments and maintain accurate inventory and documentation records.
- Unload delivery trucks, verify and audit all incoming materials, and ensure quantities and descriptions match packing slips, min/max sheets, purchase orders, and expected releases.
- Ensure all incoming goods are signed off appropriately and notify relevant individuals/departments of urgently needed items.
- Put away incoming parts from manufacturing plants or suppliers to their designated locations.
- Ensure all goods from the Manufacturing Plant are scanned and correctly processed into the MRP system.
- Verify that all incoming chemicals are accompanied by the appropriate MSDS documentation.
Order Processing
- Verify all documentation prior to shipment. Prepare and load items and obtain driver signatures where applicable.
Material Handling & Equipment
- Load and unload all shipments using forklift and crane equipment safely and efficiently.
- Complete daily pre‑shift inspections of equipment, machinery, and vehicles.
- Assist with stocking and inventory of min/max items.
Documentation & Coordination
- Prepare delivery slips for local shipments and arrange trucks as needed.
- Package outgoing materials in accordance with shipping and customer requirements.
- Assist the Shipping Lead with freight RFQs, TPO requisitions, truck coordination, shipping paperwork, and customs documents for international shipments.
- Maintain photo evidence of incoming or outgoing shipments in our local network
- Report any issues with incoming or outgoing shipments to the Shipping Lead or Manager.
Safety, Compliance & Housekeeping
- Follow all standardized work instructions and departmental procedures.
- Report any defects, hazards, non‑compliance concerns, incidents, or accidents to the appropriate supervisor and first aider.
- Ensure compliance with applicable ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 policies, procedures, and work instructions.
- Maintain established quality, safety, and housekeeping standards.
- Responsible to carry out duties for Health, Safety, and Environment in accordance with the HS&E Agreement for Employees - Addendum
Additional Responsibilities
- Provide support to Tool Cribs as required.
- Provide backup coverage for other team members, including Tool Crib attendants, and be available to temporarily switch shifts if needed.
- Perform any other reasonable duties assigned by the Purchasing Manager or Shipping Lead.
