This is for one full time permanent position working 75 hours biweekly.

The Executive Council Office is the centre of excellence for the Government of Yukon. We are leaders in the modernization of government standards and processes. We provide central strategic advice to advance government priorities through policy development, communications, intergovernmental relations, Indigenous relations, major project management, youth initiatives, Indigenous and scientific knowledge and by supporting the Water Board and the Commissioner's Office. The department also provides direct support to the Premier and Cabinet.

The opportunity…

We are looking for a highly organized individual, to lead the development of research, policy, and plans in support of the development assessment process and the integration of resource management initiatives. This individual, as Yukon Government's representative provides leadership and / or support functions in internal and external agency processes. This may include participation in consultation and resource planning initiatives with other YG departments, federal, First Nation governments, the Yukon Environmental, Socio-economic Assessment Board (YESAB), other Boards, Councils, stakeholders, and the public. This ensures that the Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assess Act continues to be implemented within the Yukon government effectively, streamlining the assessment/regulatory processes and identifying efficiencies for their interface. Your ability to think strategically, analyze, facilitate and communicate effectively both orally and in writing will help ensure you are successful in this position.

Essential Qualifications

Degree in Public Administration, Social or Environmental Sciences, or related field.
Experience researching and analyzing environmental issues, impacts and/or mitigation and recommending appropriate courses of action.
Experience providing development and analysis of policies and communications preferably in a government setting.
Experience facilitating or supporting planning in a government setting with First Nations, industry, boards/committees and/or the public.
Knowledge and experience with YESAA
Experience working with DART System would be an asset

Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.
