We're looking for a Senior Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our Hematology team in Kelowna, BC. You will be responsible for delivering in a timely manner the highest level of clinical and scientific quality to everyone we serve with a variety of testing using the latest technology. Your contributions will make a difference – the results and reports you deliver will be provided to physicians and greatly impact the downstream solutions and treatment critical to saving someone's life.

Status: Permanent Full Time

Shift: Monday to Friday, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Discipline: Hematology

Work Style: Onsite

Location: Leon Ave., Kelowna, BC

How YOU Will Make a Difference

Ensuring sample identification is correct and specimen requirements are met according to established procedures.
Performing routine testing duties within microbiology which includes but not limited to analyzer maintenance, calibration, QC and troubleshooting.
Ensuring quality control standards are maintained, investigating missing samples and performing routine maintenance on laboratory equipment.
Recording, interpreting and/or approving test results.
Identifying and reporting of incidents and non-conformities

What YOU Bring To The Role

You thrive independently, applying sound decision making principles and ability to self-manage in fast-paced environment
You have a minimum of 6 years experience as a certified Medical Laboratory Technologist
You bring a high level of interpersonal skills and you are a natural fit within a collaborative working environment
Carry a CSMLS Registration as a practicing Medical Laboratory Technologist in good standing
Proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook at an intermediate level
Solid ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide recommendations for resolution
Nice to have: working experience in the hematology field, knowledge and understanding of Diagnostic Accreditation standards.

Physical and Environmental Demands
Ability to lift 30 lbs. (pounds)
High visual requirements
Repetitive fine motor movements of hands
Perform duties in stationary standing/sitting positions
Exposure to noise, chemicals, solvents and bio-hazardous and radioactive materials
Shift work required

Pay rate: $40.00-$47.50 per hour.

The hiring pay range has been established; however, the final pay offer will be determined by taking into consideration various factors including but not limited to, level of experience and education requirements.
