Job Description
About the Role
Our client is hiring a Senior Mechatronics Design Engineer to lead the design and development of electro-mechanical products used in industrial and customer-facing environments.
You’ll be responsible for designing, prototyping, and refining hardware systems that combine metal and steel assemblies, sensors, and embedded components—from concept through to production. The role involves close collaboration with electrical, firmware, and manufacturing teams to bring innovative, reliable products to market.
It’s a great fit for engineers who enjoy building hands-on solutions, solving design challenges, and seeing their work move from prototype to production.
What You’ll Do
- Design and integrate electro-mechanical assemblies and system components for new and existing products
- Prototype, test, and refine mechanical and mechatronic subsystems using industrial-grade materials
- Create and execute validation and test plans for mechanical and system-level performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in electrical, firmware, and production engineering
- Support design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and work with suppliers on component selection and production readiness
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including BoMs, drawings, and assembly procedures
- Assist with certification and compliance requirements (safety, emissions, product standards)
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting and technical support during prototype and build phases
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Hardware Engineering
- Experience in product design and electro-mechanical system integration
- Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar CAD tools and mechanical design for manufacturing
- Strong understanding of metal and steel fabrication, mechanical assemblies, and system-level design
- Ability to bridge mechanical and electrical disciplines in practical, fast-paced environments
- Detail-oriented, organized, and collaborative in approach
Nice to Have
- Experience in automation, robotics, kiosk systems, or industrial equipment
- Familiarity with embedded systems, sensors, or low-voltage electronics
- Exposure to regulatory testing or certification processes
- Basic scripting or programming knowledge (Python, C/C++) for testing or validation
Why Join Us
- Work on end-to-end product development, from concept through launch
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary engineering team building real-world hardware systems
- Contribute to a growing organization expanding its mechanical design and product engineering capabilities
- Stable, on-site environment with career growth into technical leadership
