About the Role
The Senior Financial Analyst will be a key member of the Finance team, responsible for supporting
the capital management process. We are seeking a hardworking individual who is passionate about
decarbonization and eager to play an active role in the transition to clean energy. The ideal
candidate is also excited about process improvement, reimagining workflows, and asking the
difficult questions thatdrive meaningful change.
Duties & Responsibilities
Support the process to record capital asset acquisitions and dispositions in the accounting system
(D365) by partnering with business stakeholders, including reviews of purchase orders and
accruals, and preparing the necessary capital asset journal entries as part of month-end and yearend
closing process
Track the compilation of project costs into construction work in progress accounts, close out those
accounts and componentize the asset once the related projects have been completed
Assist with reporting requirements relating to compliance with Low Carbon Economy Challenge
Funding Agreements with the Government of Canada and other agreements that may arise
Assist with quarterly capital wage tracking process and reporting actual performance vs. budget
Assist the Manager, Capital Finance in preparing monthly management reporting decks to enable
effective management of capital spend
Participate in the annual capital budgeting process as well as periodic forecast updates
Strong focus on business partnering and understanding business operations through positive
interactions with business stakeholders and developing strong working relationships with key
business partners. Assist with annual financial audit compliance and tax preparation support related
to fixed assets
Prepare ad-hoc analysis, reports, and assist with special projects as required
Ready to reinvent processes, update/refresh workpapers, and be willing to streamline processes.
Assist with finance transformation, implementation and testing of new software, controls, and
procedures

Stakeholder Groups: Planning & Development, Operations, Solutions & Innovation, Finance,
Commercial Operations and Third-Party Project Management Consultants
Desired Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance or Business
Obtained an accounting or finance designation (i.e., CPA)
Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role as a Senior Financial Analyst or 2 years of
experience in audit/assurance at a large public accounting firm
Proficient in Excel and accounting/reporting systems, experience with Dynamics 365 and Power
BI would be considered an asset
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with nonfinance
business partners
Process-oriented individual with a desire to be challenged, design and implement process
improvements and take initiative to solve problems independently
Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities
Ability to work in a dynamic environment which requires a high level of flexibility and adaptability.
Ability to redesign workpapers, workflows and processes.
