DEVELOPMENT & DONOR RELATIONS

The Office of Development and Donor Relations (DDR) is a unit within the Advancement portfolio, responsible for the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of private donations made to UNB. The Senior Development Officer is a member of the institutional advancement team, which includes alumni relations, development & donor relations, and communications and marketing on the Fredericton and Saint John campuses.

Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri | 8:15 am - 4:30 pm | 36.25 hours per week

Salary Range: The position is funded by the University Budget with a salary range commensurate with experience and qualifications.

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to the Executive Director of Development and Donor Relations, the Senior Development Officer is responsible for the design, development, and management of a comprehensive program of focused solicitation strategies to persuasively present the University's campaign priorities.

Work closely with advancement colleagues, deans, and volunteers to develop and implement strategies to secure financial support for approved fundraising initiatives. Identify, cultivate, and solicit donors and prospects.
Manage a portfolio of donors and prospects. Ensure solicitations and/or meaningful stewardship contacts are undertaken with all donors and prospects on an annual basis.
Undertake unique personal visits with donors and prospects annually.
Achieve 300/400 donor and prospect moves annually.
Make 50+ solicitations annually.
Raise $750,000 - $1,000,000 annually.
Identify 50 new prospects annually.
Develop a sound knowledge of UNB, its faculties, programs, centres, and history.

What You Bring

Undergraduate degree required
Minimum of five to seven years' fundraising experience.

Additional Strengths

Proven record of outstanding achievement or a significant background in a related professional field which may include client/business development, sales, or marketing.
Ability to work independently with initiative.
Excellent oral/written communication, presentation, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
A high level of accountability and sound, mature judgement. Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
Team player with the ability to adapt in an ever-changing environment.
Experience working with and motivating volunteers.
Willingness to work some non-traditional hours.
Demonstrated computer skills (Mircrosoft Office) and CRM competence
Ability to travel both within and outside New Brunswick and Canada.
Knowledge of UNB and its advancement mandate is a definite asset.
