Registered Occupational Therapist

Job Description

We are currently looking for an Occupational Therapist for a Long Term Care home client in Hamilton, Ontario. The Occupational Therapist will work closely with residents to help improve their activities of daily living.<br><br>Schedule:<ul><li>5 hours bi-weekly </li></ul>

Job Duties:<ul><li>Conduct OT/ADP assessments for residents per College standards, develop individualized treatment plans, and document all progress notes in the facility's health record system.</li><li>Complete feeding assessments for residents.</li><li>Complete assessments for falls prevention and Least Restraints, including reviews of bed rails.</li><li>Work with the Physiotherapist and Nursing staff in regards to wound management (ex: positioning, lifting and transferring.</li><li>Work with multi-disciplinary team to make recommendations with respect to other interventions or treatments (ex: Restorative Care, Pain Management, Contingence Management), and ensure the interventions follow best practices.</li></ul>

Qualifications:<ul><li>Must be registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapist of Ontario, and must have ADP Authorizer.</li><li>Must have Professional License Insurance.</li><li>Excellent interpersonal and listening skills while interacting with residents or their families.</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>Experience working in a Long Term Care home would be a definite asset.</li><li>Current police check for the Vulnerable Sector is required.</li></ul>
