Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Worker (PSW) fluent in Italian to provide exceptional care in . This role involves assisting seniors and individuals with disabilities in their daily activities, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. The ideal candidate will have experience in assisted living, nursing home environments, or home care settings, with a strong focus on senior care and dementia support. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in clients' lives through personalized caregiving.
Duties
- Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Administer medications following prescribed schedules and safety protocols
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and maintaining a safe living environment
- Support clients with mobility and transfers using proper techniques to prevent injury
- Monitor health status and report any changes or concerns to healthcare professionals or family members
- Engage clients in recreational activities suitable for their interests and cognitive abilities
- Document care provided accurately in compliance with agency policies
Skills
- Proven experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care environments, especially with seniors or individuals with disabilities
- Knowledge of dementia care and medication administration procedures
- Strong caregiving skills with patience, empathy, and excellent communication abilities in Italian and English
- Ability to perform light cleaning and meal preparation efficiently
- Familiarity with working with individuals experiencing dementia or other cognitive impairments
- Ability to work independently while following care plans and safety protocols
- Compassionate attitude focused on enhancing quality of life for clients
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs of clients and work schedules
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
