JOB DESCRIPTION
Irving Shipbuilding is seeking a Project Manager - Inbound Logistics to lead strategic initiatives that optimize inbound transportation and warehouse operations. This role manages a major third‑party logistics (3PL) provider, ensuring efficient material flow from suppliers to production. You will oversee subcontractor performance, compliance, and continuous improvement while driving cost and operational efficiency. #LI-MJ1.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage 3PL warehouse provider performance, including contract compliance, KPIs, and SLAs.
- Lead inbound logistics projects for critical materials and oversized equipment, ensuring scope, cost, and schedule adherence.
- Develop and implement Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs with 3PL partner, including SOPs and success metrics.
- Prepare and present business cases for executive reviews and customer engagements.
- Direct team handling controlled goods and UKOS shipments, ensuring compliance and timely delivery.
- Develop risk and change management strategies for warehouse and inbound logistics operations.
- Analyze performance data and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal supply chain teams to achieve zero lates and zero defects in material flow.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5 years in Project Management and Supply Chain, with expertise in inbound logistics and warehouse operations.
- PMP certification required; RMP an asset.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain and financial principles.
- Experience managing critical subcontracts and 3PL relationships in complex industrial or defense environments.
- Proven ability to drive operational excellence through KPIs and data‑driven decisions.
Due to the nature of work Irving Shipbuilding does, all successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Please note this position requires a full‑time, in‑office presence.
