Job Description
The Print Room Assistant provides high quality finished print products for all of JD Irving Moncton companies. Working closely with the Print Room Administrator, The Print Room Assistant provides the highest standard output. Printing consists of business cards, ID cards, sell sheets, presentations, easel boards, banners and other custom requests.
This role is 20 hours per week and requires flexibility within an 8 hour work day, allowing for additional hours for projects and special events.
- Operating Printing and Finishing Equipment - This includes running various printers, binding, laminating, and cutting machinery
- Quality Control - Inspecting printed materials for quality and ensuring they meet specifications
- Bindery Operations - Folding, collating, and binding printed materials
- Mounting printed materials onto foam core, coroplast, etc.
- Mounting and dismounting pull up banners on and off hardware
- Maintaining Equipment - Performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting minor issues (correcting paper jams, cleaning, and connectivity, etc.), and ensuring equipment is in good working order
- Storing and stocking print supplies
- Re-wiring photo frames as needed
- Preparing finished products for shipment
- Switching rolls of paper on the printer - physically capable of lifting 50lbs. or more
- Ensure print requests are fulfilled within established delivery deadlines
Other duties as requested.
High School / College
- Post Secondary Education in Graphic Design an asset
- Organized, detailed and flexible
- Basic knowledge of design and print programs (Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
- Printer and industry knowledge helpful
