Job Description
Responsible for quantity take-off, pricing of work and material, closing of tenders, and preparing quotes
Review specifications and drawings of open tenders
Communicate effectively with third-party vendors and project team members to get the information required to complete accurate cost estimates
Review designs and specification for cost-effectiveness; provide recommendations for alternatives where applicable
Review project plans and specifications and coordinate with team members to confirm complete scope
Adhere to all company policies and procedures
Requirements
A valid driver's license with reliable transportation
Available to work Monday to Friday, occasional Saturday
Minimum of 40 hours per week, must be flexible and willing to work overtime
Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
Attentive to detail, organized, and able to meet deadlines under pressure
Proficient in both verbal and written English communication
Able to work in a team environment and independently
Excellent problem solving-skills and ability to think outside the box
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
Local or willing to relocate to Central Alberta
Assets
Previous experience as an estimator or similar position
Familiar with construction terms and processes
An understanding of precast concrete
Basic knowledge of Autodesk software (Revit, AutoCAD)
Graduate from a recognized construction program or equivalent
