    Foundation Health Job Description

    Personal Support Workers (PSWs) provide care to individuals who need assistance due to aging, injury, surgery, disability, or illness.

    Please note: This position supports agency staffing and home care services across Winnipeg and surrounding communities.

    Key Responsibilities
    Assisting clients with personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming)
    Providing companionship and emotional support
    Supporting clients with outings, exercise, or social activities
    Preparing basic meals
    Performing light housekeeping (laundry, dishes, garbage removal, dusting, vacuuming)
    Providing respite care for family or primary caregivers
    Reminding clients about medications
    Accompanying clients to appointments or errands
    Contributing to the client's overall care plan
    Completing delegated tasks within your scope of practice
    Providing care in private homes or care facilities

    Qualifications
    Applicants must hold one or more of the following:
    Valid Health Care Aide (HCA) certificate recognized in Manitoba
    Personal Support Worker Certificate from an approved training program
    Nursing (RN/LPN), Paramedic, Occupational Therapy, or Physiotherapy student with at least one year completed
    Developmental Support Worker certification
    Internationally educated Nurse, Midwife, or Physician

    Additional Requirements
    Ability to travel daily (often more than 30 minutes) a reliable vehicle is required
    Valid Class 5 Manitoba driver's license and access to a dependable vehicle
    Physical ability to stand, bend, walk, kneel, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg)
    Ability to assist clients with mobility and repositioning
    Valid Standard First Aid and CPR (Level C)
    Up-to-date immunization records, including TB screening
    Clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
    Strong interpersonal skills with a caring, respectful approach
    Proficient verbal and written English communication
    Comfortable using mobile phone applications

        Health & Compliance Requirements
        Vulnerable Sector Check completed within the last six months
        Proof of COVID-19 vaccinations (as applicable)
        TB test completed within the past 612 months
        Updated immunization record
        Current CPR and First Aid certification
