Job Description

Adecco is currently hiring a full-time detail‑driven Payroll Administrator to manage full‑cycle biweekly payroll for a large, multi‑province employee group for our client in Ochawa, ON. This role requires you to have strong payroll processing experience, excellent accuracy, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.



  • Schedule: Monday to Friday | 9:00am – 5:00pm

  • Job type: Temporary | Full-time | 6 months contract with possibility to be extend

Responsibilities:



  • Process full-cycle payroll for both hourly and salaried employees, weekly and biweekly (150-400 employees across two locations).

  • Prepare and file Government remittances (EHT, WSIB/WorkSafe BC, Source Deductions)

  • Assist with year-end payroll related activities including T4 and T4As

  • Generate Records of Employment (ROE) and respond to related government or external requests as required

  • Manage in-house time and attendance systems (Enterprise Time)

  • Provide outstanding customer service to company management and employees with a sense of urgency, confidentiality and responsiveness with a high level of attention to detail in investigating and replying to information requests and resolving payroll discrepancies.

  • Stay current on relevant payroll laws, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance

  • Produce requested payroll reports

  • Recommend improvements to payroll and HR practices and systems to improve efficiency and productivity

  • Assist with Human Resource administrative functions, including employee onboarding and offboarding processes, and ensure all new hire documentation is complete and accurate

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date physical and electronic employee records

  • Process employee changes, such as promotions, transfers and terminations and update relevant records and systems accordingly

  • Generate employment related letters using established templates

  • Assist HR Manager in coordinating RRSP and benefit programs through enrollment and terminations, respond to employee benefit inquiries and follow up with group benefit carrier as required

  • Participate in special projects, and perform other related duties and assignments as required

  • Assist the Farm and Plant Managers with Temporary Foreign Workers as needed, submitting LMIA’s and arranging worker appointments.


Qualifications:



  • Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada

  • 5+ years payroll experience

  • Payroll certification (PCP/CPM) complete or in progress is an asset

  • Expert knowledge of current Canadian legislative requirements (ON and BC)

  • Experience in a unionized environment

  • Good interpersonal skills with congenial personality and ability to work as a team player with other departments

  • Confident working independently

  • Quick learner

  • High degree of discretion and confidentiality with mature judgement and integrity critical of safeguarding sensitive information

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, transition between tasks and flexible to adapt quickly to changing priorities

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Hard working, positive, can-do attitude with ability to accept and learn from feedback

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Available and willing to work extended hours when necessary to meet payroll deadlines

  • Punctual and reliable with own transportation

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
