What We Need
Under the supervision of the Restaurant Manager, the
Host(ess)
welcomes guests, guides them to a table, hands out menus, ensures that they have everything they need during their meal and thanks them as they leave the dining room. The incumbent also assists the waiters and/or bartenders in the service (refreshing water glasses, clearing tables, cleaning and preparing tables, etc.). The Host(ess) is an important element of the food service team in terms of teamwork and customer experience.

What You'll Do

  • Greet guests at the restaurant and assist them in assigning a table according to their needs and requests;
  • Assign tables in rotation through the different sections;
  • Provide menus and general information to guest and answer questions;
  • Provide knowledge of products / different menus items (alcohol, food, etc.);
  • Knowledge of the different seating plans, table numbers, different sections;
  • Refresh glasses of water, clear empty tables or plates when guests have finished their meal, on a regular basis;
  • Clean and set tables with dishes, utensils and glasses for future guests;
  • Ensure good communication with the servers to maintain excellent quality and service;
  • Participate in cleaning the premises and maintaining the order and cleanliness of the restaurant and the service area by respecting the standards of hygiene and healthiness of the MAPAQ;
  • In collaboration with the bar attendant, ensure that equipment is in place for the team;
  • Maintain, control and rotate the products in the cellars and refrigerators
  • Restock the points of sale (beer, wine, juice, straws, ice cream etc.)
  • Receive and put away orders for alcohol and non-alcoholic beverages
  • Ensure cleanliness, collect empty glasses on site;
  • Classify empty bottles;
  • Perform any other related duties.

Profile needed
What is the profile needed in order to be successful in this position

  • Related experience in food & beverage and/or customer service
  • (including experience with POS systems);
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with customers, managers and other associates;
  • Multidisciplinarity is essential;
  • Good stress management skills;
  • Interpersonal skills and high level of customer service;
  • Resourcefulness, autonomy, team player, attention to detail;
  • Must be in good physical condition; able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours);
  • Food Handling and Occupational Health and Safety certification, an asset.

When
You will work a varying schedule which requires flexibility to work weekends, holiday.

Compensation

  • Annual compensation for the role is expected to be in the range of $40,000-$70,000
