Job Opportunity
We are currently seeking a reliable, skilled and detail-oriented Material Handler Support to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory control, supporting material flow throughout the facility, assisting with rail car operations, and ensuring proper preparation and documentation of materials for production and outsourcing. This role supports operational efficiency, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance within a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
Inventory Management
- Conduct physical inventory counts and reporting of production supplies.
- Perform physical inventory and reporting of customer-owned materials.
- Track, document, and report shipped materials.
- Organize and maintain storage areas for current and future materials.
- Receive, inspect, and report on incoming production supplies.
- Maintain accurate inventory logs and report discrepancies.
Rail Car Operations
- Assist with rail car off-loading startup procedures.
- Perform checking, sampling, cleaning, and material retrieval from rail cars.
- Complete and maintain rail car reports.
- Support basic rail equipment monitoring and maintenance reporting.
Materials for Outsourcing
- Conduct slug inspections and prepare detailed reports.
- Prepare slugs for shipment including proper labeling and documentation.
- Perform scrap gauge leveling.
- Prepare scrap gauges for shipment including labeling and reporting.
Sampling, Testing & Quality Support
- Maintain safekeeping and organization of retained samples.
- Conduct sampling of Korad film, resins, regrinds, and similar materials.
- Perform colour tests on resin samples.
- Sort and organize samples.
- Create accurate labels for samples and materials.
Material Handling & Operational Support
- Assist with startup and off-loading of supersacks.
- Dispose of contaminated or obsolete materials in accordance with company procedures.
- Ensure proper material identification, labeling, and storage.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
- Follow all safety and quality protocols.
Other
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean and organized work environment and comply with 5S program.
- Follow lean manufacturing principles to improve production efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of production output and quality metrics.
- Compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Valid Forklift certification (Required)
- Technical knowledge with computers (Required)
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand and operate logic controllers.
- Experience with quality inspection processes and tools.
- Ability to work effectively in a warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices and understanding of 5S methodology is desirable.
- Rail car safety knowledge.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards.
- Must be able to effectively communicate, read, and write in English.
- Ability to work long hours, hardworking, and have a willingness to learn.
