The Opportunity

Reporting to the director of engineering services, the manager of infrastructure assets will provide leadership, direction and oversight to the Infrastructure Assets team, ensuring the effective planning and delivery of services related to municipal infrastructure. This role is central to infrastructure strategy and investment planning for one of Northern Ontario's largest and most diverse municipalities. The position will lead the development and implementation of an organization-wide infrastructure asset management plan and capital prioritization framework, for roads, bridges, culverts, water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure across the municipality, guiding multi-year investments that support growth, environmental stewardship and service excellence.

What You'll Do

  • Provide strong people leadership, building an engaged, accountable and high-performing team.
  • Lead the development of capital budgets and prioritization frameworks for transportation and water/wastewater/stormwater infrastructure.
  • Oversee master planning and asset management plans and project scope development aligned with capital priorities, provincial regulations and the City's strategic objectives.
  • Provide technical oversight and professional engineering guidance to staff, consultants and contractors.
  • Represent the division with Council, external agencies, funding partners and key community partners.

What You'll Bring

  • University degree in engineering and membership (or eligibility) with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
  • Minimum of seven years of progressive engineering experience, including capital planning and infrastructure program oversight.
  • PMP or CAMP designations are considered strong assets.
  • Proven leadership experience, ideally within a large or unionized municipal environment.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable legislation, asset management best practices and project management principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills; French language skills are an asset.
  • Valid Class G driver's licence with an acceptable driving record.

Salary and Additional Benefits

The salary range for this position is $132,822.90 to $156,299.85 per year. We also offer a comprehensive health benefits plan (100 per cent employer-paid), an OMERS pension plan, life insurance, an Employee Assistance Program and more.
