Yukon government’s vision is an engaged and diverse public service that embraces innovation to deliver positive outcomes for Yukoners.
Who we are
The French Language Services Directorate (FLSD) is a central agency that supports departments and public bodies in fulfilling the requirements of the Yukon Languages Act. Through strong partnerships with departments and public bodies, it provides strategic policy advice on service planning and delivery, supports the design of effective service models, and equips public servants with the tools and training they need to confidently serve Yukoners in French.
The opportunity
The French Language Services Directorate is seeking a strategic leader to guide the development and delivery of government‑wide policies and programs that advance bilingual service delivery across the Yukon. Reporting to the Director, and as a member of the senior management team, this role contributes to strategic decision‑making, provides expert advice on high‑profile and sensitive files, supports the Directorate’s central agency mandate, and oversees work related to legislative sessions. The position also provides leadership and guidance to a team of eight policy and French‑language training professionals, including three supervisors reporting to the Manager, and works closely with departments to strengthen the delivery of French‑language services across government.
If you are a highly motivated individual who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys shaping policy and collaborating with senior leaders and departments, strives to foster a client‑focused culture and has strong political acumen, this position is for you.
