As a key member of the Hudson Regional Cancer Program Leadership Team, the Manager, Oncology Ambulatory Clinics & Diagnostic Assessment Program provides strategic and operational leadership for Regional Ambulatory Cancer Services across North Simcoe Muskoka.
This is a highly complex leadership role within an evolving and specialized cancer care landscape. We are seeking a business-minded, strategic systems thinker who understands the broader healthcare environment, anticipates emerging challenges, and translates vision into clear, measurable action. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong business acumen, fiscal responsibility, and data-informed decision making while balancing quality, access, workforce sustainability, and performance outcomes.
The Manager oversees clerical, nursing, and ambulatory clinic operations, ensuring alignment with best practices, patient and family experience priorities, and Ontario Health – Cancer Care Ontario (OH CCO) quality, access, and performance metrics. This role is accountable for program planning across the cancer continuum—from diagnosis through treatment, survivorship, and palliation—and for optimizing clinic operations, implementing innovative models of care, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Leadership Accountabilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership aligned with the organizational Strategic Plan
- Lead clinic optimization, service redesign, program expansion, and new provider onboarding
- Apply Lean methodology, continuous improvement principles, and data analytics to enhance access, quality, and patient experience
- Oversee financial planning, budget development, forecasting, and responsible resource utilization
- Monitor and achieve OH CCO KPIs, performance scorecards, and quality indicators
- Translate complex data into actionable business and operational insights for Regional and Senior Leadership
- Support ambulatory care planning and capacity management across the cancer continuum
- Build strong partnerships with oncologists, advanced practice clinicians, interdisciplinary teams, and external stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with provincial legislation, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements
- Lead performance management, professional development, and succession planning for staff
- Foster a workplace culture that promotes engagement, accountability, collaboration, and wellness
Education
- Baccalaureate degree required in Health Care Administration, Business, Strategy, or a related field- preferred
- Master's degree preferred in Health Care Leadership, Business Administration, Strategy, Health Administration, or related discipline (or equivalent progressive leadership experience)
- Membership in or eligibility for a recognized professional regulatory body – considered an asset
- Current professional registration in good standing (where applicable) asset
- DeSouza Institute or ONS chemotherapy/biotherapy/navigation coursework considered an asset
- CNA (Canadian Nurses Association) Certification in Oncology (CONC) considered an asset
Experience
- Minimum five (5) years progressive experience in an acute healthcare or hospital setting- asset
- Minimum three (3) years progressive management or leadership experience – preferred
- Demonstrated experience within the cancer system- preferred
- Experience leading large-scale service redesign, operational improvement, or program expansion initiatives
- Proven financial management experience including budgeting, forecasting, and fiscal oversight
- Experience managing within a unionized environment
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary healthcare environment
- Involvement in relevant professional organizations (e.g., CANO, RNAO) asset
