Job Summary:
Join Bird's mission to change the way the world moves, one ride at a time, by ensuring our award-winning electric vehicle fleet in Windsor is in peak condition. As a hands-on Vehicle Mechanic, you will repair and maintain our electric fleet and support warehouse operations to reduce carbon emissions and traffic. You will work with a motivated, tight-knit team to ensure every vehicle is safe and ready for the road.
Responsibilities:
- Execute Vehicle Repairs: Diagnose and repair electric scooters and bikes, ranging from quick mechanical fixes to full vehicle refurbishments.
- Manage Warehouse Efficiency: Maintain an organized workspace by moving scooters and managing parts inventory to support flow.
- Maintain Safety Standards: Follow strict safety protocols while using hand tools and operating in a warehouse environment.
- Collaborate on Technical Learnings: Communicate roadblocks and repair insights to the team and supervisors to improve fleet health.
- Support Logistics Operations: Assist with fleet staging and prepare vehicles for deployment by the operations team.
- Utilize Digital Tools: Use smartphone applications and internal software to track repair status and inventory usage.
- Previous experience in maintenance, logistics, or warehousing is preferred; mechanics, apprentices, or students are encouraged to apply.
- Proficiency with hand tools and comfort using smartphone apps in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills with a quick-learning mindset.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on your feet for up to 8 hours.
- Must have weekend availability and a flexible attitude toward seasonal shift changes.
