Job Description

Eurofins CDMO Alphora is seeking a motivated Maintenance Facility Technician to join our team and support the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our facility. This role is responsible for performing mechanical and electrical installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair activities across site equipment, utilities, systems, and facilities. The successful candidate will work in alignment with established SOPs, GMP standards, and EH&S policies to ensure compliance and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for all facility utility systems including boiler, chiller, HVAC, building automation system, compressed air, pure steam generator, and chiller system.


• Day shift position with on‑call requirements and respond to off‑hours emergencies as required.


• Support start‑up, commissioning, and qualification of utility systems.


• Perform maintenance procedures according to the established SOP and PM schedule, coordinating parts and service as required.


• Coordinate routine maintenance with Operations to ensure minimal disruption to production scheduling.


• Build and grow existing preventative maintenance program while maintaining a proactive approach to plant and equipment maintenance & repair.


• Identify, recommend, and implement improvements to lines, equipment, utilities, systems, and/or facilities to enhance productivity, quality or safety.


• Perform operational checks on equipment and systems; detect and investigate variance in performance.


• Resolve equipment failure, isolate issues, conduct repair or source external resources as needed.


• Complete required compliance documentation, log books, timesheets, etc., when executing duties.


• Maintain an assortment of common spare parts, and recommend or initiate purchase orders according to company purchasing guidelines.


• Complete and maintain current training and awareness of related legislated codes, EH&S procedures, SOPs and GMP requirements; maintain certification and respond to technology changes at the site.

Qualifications

• 4th Class Power (Operating) Engineer Certification – TSSA.


• 2‑year College Diploma in engineering or a related technical field.


• Open to entry‑level candidates.


• Strong teamwork, communication, and problem‑solving skills.


• Ability to work effectively in a regulated environment.

The approximate annual base compensation for this position starts at $65,000 CAD (base salary does not include potential shift premiums or overtime). The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package plus benefits, will be determined by a number of factors including the applicant’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
