Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining excellent customer service. This role requires a valid driver's license class 5, strong navigation skills, and the ability to operate various types of equipment when necessary. Experience with freight handling, commercial driving, and heavy equipment operation is a plus. The Delivery Driver plays a crucial role in ensuring our clients receive their orders promptly and in excellent condition.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vehicles to transport goods to designated locations
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or hand trucks
- Verify delivery orders for accuracy and completeness before departure
- Ensure proper documentation is completed for each delivery
- Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the vehicle and delivery equipment
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status or issues
- Assist with basic vehicle maintenance or repairs as needed, including minor automotive repairs
- Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations during deliveries
- Operate heavy equipment when required for freight handling or loading/unloading processes
Experience
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Experience in commercial driving, freight handling, or related fields preferred
- Knowledge of forklift operation and heavy equipment operation is advantageous
- Familiarity with automotive repair or basic vehicle troubleshooting is a plus
- Prior experience delivering goods in a fast-paced environment is beneficial
- Ability to navigate efficiently using GPS or maps and adapt to changing routes
