Position Overview

The permanent, full-time Lead Hand – Utilities Treatment Lab Facilities is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of treatment laboratory facilities while ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant performance of all systems. This role provides hands-on leadership and technical guidance to operations staff while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and environmental compliance. The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:

• Minimum five years' previous experience in a lab or treatment plant.

• Completion of a post-secondary degree in science with a focus on chemistry or a related science discipline.

• Proficient in intermediate Word and Intermediate Excel, as demonstrated through testing. (70% pass rate required)

• Minimum of three months' previous supervisory experience in a lab with demonstrated leadership qualities.

• Valid BC Driver's Licence - Class 5.

Monday – Friday: 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM and 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

This position is being hired under a modified work schedule (one extra day off every third week). Please see attached Terms of Reference.
