Overview
We are seeking a skilled IT Technician to join our technology support team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive technical assistance to end-users, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and maintain network infrastructure. The IT Technician will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems across the organization, supporting various platforms including Windows, macOS, and Linux. Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for desktop and laptop computers, printers, and peripheral devices.
- Assist users with operating system issues across Windows, macOS, and Linux platforms.
- Manage and resolve software problems related to Microsoft Office, enterprise applications, and other business tools.
- Configure and maintain network components including LAN, VPN connections, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Support computer hardware installation, upgrades, repairs, and maintenance.
- Utilize service management tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, BMC Remedy to document incidents and track resolutions.
- Manage user accounts and permissions within Active Directory or similar systems.
- Assist with server administration tasks and ensure network security protocols are followed.
- Provide help desk support via phone or remote access to resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Collaborate with team members on projects involving network upgrades or new system implementations.
- Maintain documentation of technical procedures and configurations for future reference.
Experience
- Proven experience supporting Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems in a professional environment.
- Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including LAN setup, VPN configuration, firewall management, and troubleshooting connectivity issues.
- Familiarity with enterprise ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or BMC Remedy.
- Experience with remote support tools like Jira or similar platforms for issue tracking.
- Hands-on experience with hardware components including desktops, laptops, servers, and peripherals.
- Knowledge of security best practices including firewall configuration and user access controls.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
- Prior experience providing help desk or IT support services in a fast-paced environment is preferred. This position offers an engaging work environment where your technical expertise will directly impact operational efficiency while providing excellent customer service to end-users.
