Intermediate - Senior Water/Wastewater Process Engineer

Location: Mississauga, Ontario

Salary: $100,000-$140,000 (based on experience)

The Role: The Intermediate-Senior Water/Water Process Engineer will support and lead the planning, design, and delivery of water and wastewater projects for public and private sector clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver process designs for water, wastewater treatment systems and pumping stations.
  • Coordinate with municipalities, stakeholders and, approval agencies for design review and input.
  • Liaise with clients, municipalities and regulatory agencies to obtain all necessary approvals.
  • Prepare and review process flow diagrams (PFD's) piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID's), control philosophies, and process calculations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing processes, systems and engineering practices.
  • Perform data collection, operational analysis and performance assessments to support process improvements.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, process evaluations and alternate analyses.
  • Prepare contract drawings for construction including engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Prepare engineering project proposals, change orders and client communication.
  • Support project management activities including progress reporting and risk identification.
  • Participate in client meetings, design workshops and technical presentations.
  • Contribute to the successful delivery of projects in alignment with project scope, schedule and budget.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Ontario.
  • Bachelors degree in Chemical, / Civil, or Environmental Engineering.
  • 8-10+ years of experience in the execution of municipal water/wastewater projects is required.
  • Demonstrated experience with municipal water treatment, wastewater treatment and sludge/biosolids processing.
  • Proven knowledge and experience with approval processes, industry standards and regulatory frameworks.
  • Contract administration experience is an asset.
  • Proficiency in process modelling, data analysis, and interpretation.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with multidisciplinary teams.

Technical Skills:

  • Experience with process modelling software (Biowin, GPS-X, CapdetWorks)
  • Strong AutoCAD experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
