Heritage Christian Online School (HCOS) is a K-12 Provincial Online Learning School, providing fully accredited, Christian education to students in BC. As one of Western Canada's largest online schools, we connect teachers with families and students to provide guidance and support via personalized, online, and face-to-face options.

The Position:
We are looking for two BC Certified Teachers for a 0.5 – 1.0 FTE Humanities Specialist position . These roles will blend digital innovation with face-to-face community building, supporting students across a diverse range of Social Studies and English Language Arts courses. Each role will teach a portion of the online synchronous and asynchronous course load and teach one day/week on-site at either the Langley or Abbotsford Community Connections location.
Online Synchronous & Asynchronous Innovations Courses
Delivering instruction and assessment for
Social Studies 10
Social Studies 11
20th Century World History 12
Comparative Cultures 12
and BC First Peoples 12.
Position will start May 1, 2026 and is a 12-month teaching position including online instruction during the summer months
Course load will depend on teacher experience and desired FTE
Face-to-Face , Community Connections (CC+)
Delivering instruction and assessment on-site for
Abbotsford (Tuesdays):
Social Studies 10
English 10
and Career Life Connections (CLC).
Langley (Thursdays):
Social Studies (grade to be determined)
English (grade to be determined)
and Career courses.
Position will start September 1, 2026, with training beginning August 1, 2026.
What we Offer:
Contractor model
Competitive salary: ~$75,000-$91,500 based on a 1.0 FTE and depending on experience and certifications.
Teacher salaries are based on number of courses and students taught.
