Overview
We are seeking a professional and personable Front Desk Receptionist to join our upcoming dental practice. in the city of Oakville. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment while efficiently managing administrative tasks. This role requires excellent communication skills, familiarity with dental and medical office procedures, and proficiency with electronic medical records systems. Prior experience with office management software such as Dentrix and Epic is highly desirable. The successful candidate will contribute to the smooth operation of our practice by providing outstanding customer service and supporting daily administrative functions.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly upon arrival, creating a positive first impression
- Answer multi-line phone systems promptly and professionally, directing calls as needed
- Schedule appointments efficiently using electronic medical records systems such as Dentrix and Epic
- Verify patient insurance information and update records accurately
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including collecting payments and providing necessary documentation
- Maintain organized patient files and ensure confidentiality of medical records
- Assist with administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and correspondence
- Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow throughout the day
- Handle incoming inquiries via phone or in person, providing accurate information about services offered
- Support office operations by managing supplies and maintaining a clean reception area
Skills
- Proven experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a Medical Office environment
- Familiarity with dental software such as Dentrix and electronic medical records systems like Epic
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dental and healthcare settings
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to operate multi-line phone systems efficiently
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in office administration and basic computer applications (MS Office Suite)
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
