Red Deer Polytechnic is hiring a permanent, full-time (1.0 FTE) Faculty Recruiter to work within the School of Health and Wellness to provide full cycle recruitment and onboarding support for Faculty. This role is eligible for hybrid work with a requirement to work on main campus in order to facilitate the required recruitment and onboarding activities.


The Faculty Recruiter will be responsible to post the role(s) in line with current processes, pre‑screening and scheduling interviews, completion of reference checks. In addition, they will complete passive and active recruitment initiatives such as hiring events as well as coordinate and support onboarding activities for new Faculty Members. This position may also support retention activities for currently faculty members.


Position Responsibilities


The Faculty Recruiter is responsible for:



  • Coordinating the hiring of faculty members which includes but is not limited to creating job postings, scheduling and participating in interviews, completing reference checks, and supporting the issuance of the employment contract.

  • Developing and executing creative recruitment solutions in alignment with current best practices and RDP values.

  • Ensuring the successful onboarding of the new faculty members.

  • Collaborating with leaders to identify part‑time instructors and determine interest in future employment.

  • Develop and execute engaging hiring events both virtually and in‑person to attract candidates.

  • Develop and execute creative recruitment solutions in alignment with our brand standards and RDP values. This could include but is not limited to developing social media resources, developing communications to attract potential candidates, and participating in campus‑wide recruitment initiatives.

  • Work with school leaders to identify hiring needs and evaluate existing talent within the Institution.


Required Qualifications



  • Diploma in a relevant discipline such as Business Administration, Human Resources or equivalent.

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role with proven experience recruiting in a high volume, fast‑paced environment.

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office 365 including expertise with Word and Outlook.

  • Ability to work independently within a fast‑paced environment with competing demands.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Registered Professional Recruiter (RPR) certification.

  • Experience working in a unionized environment.

  • Experience working in a post‑secondary environment and/or health‑care environment.


Salary or Hourly?


Salary $55,499-$64,926
