Role Overview
The Director of Operations is the architect and owner of Brodie League's operational excellence.

This is a high-accountability leadership position for a systems-driven operator who thrives on scaling processes, leading teams, and driving performance across multiple locations.

You will oversee and coach a team of District Managers, General Managers, and League Managers, ensuring flawless nightly execution and sustained athlete growth. You'll collaborate cross-functionally with Tech, Marketing, and Brand to ensure alignment with company objectives, while forecasting growth and optimizing for efficiency.

Your mission: build a world-class operational engine that powers Brodie League's growth and athlete experience.

Core Responsibilities
Operational Excellence & Systems

  • Own the performance, growth, and scalability of all league operations across all locations
  • Translate company vision and KPIs into actionable operational strategies and seasonal plans
  • Audit and refine systems to ensure efficiency, reliability, and predictability across all locations
  • Track and report on key metrics (player retention, registration growth, staff performance, operational excellence)
  • Identify bottlenecks, propose process upgrades, and lead implementation

Revenue & Growth

  • Partner with Marketing to drive registration and revenue growth season-over-season
  • Partner with Finance to drive location-level P&L performance, focusing on profitability and operational efficiency
  • Develop strategies to increase athlete retention, referrals, and lifetime value

Player Experience & Game Day Operations

  • Ensure every location delivers flawless, consistent game nights at the Brodie Standard
  • Oversee execution of league-wide playbooks, timelines, and game-night workflows
  • Maintain the gold standard of player experience from jersey pickup to Finals
  • Drive major events (Finals, All-Star, activations) and ensure elite quality
  • Collect, analyze, and action player feedback across all locations

Team Leadership

  • Track KPIs including signups, retention, referrals, and conversion rates
  • Build dashboards showing performance by location, staff member, and season
  • Identify bottlenecks and implement improvements
  • Present weekly and monthly sales performance reports to leadership

Leadership & Team Development

  • Hire, train, and mentor District Managers and General Managers
  • Build a high-performance culture grounded in accountability, adaptability, and speed
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and ensure team alignment with Brodie's standards
  • Drive leadership development, building the next generation of Brodie operators

Requirements

  • Proven ability to scale teams and systems while maintaining exceptional quality
  • Significant experience leading multi-location operations or scaling complex operational teams
  • Demonstrated success in leading leaders and developing high-performing teams
  • Highly organized, data-driven, and comfortable making decisions under pressure
  • Ability to travel between locations and work evenings/weekends during key periods
  • 5 days in office at our Toronto HQ - Brodie has thrived due to a culture of collaboration and teamwork in office

Compensation Disclosure
The expected annual compensation range for this role is between $125,000 and $175,000 CAD. Compensation is based on skills, experience, qualifications, internal equity, and business needs. The compensation range may be adjusted in the future.
