PACT (Pearson Accelerator Construction Team) is a General Partnership of Alberici, Amico, Kenaidan, and Obayashi, supported by design partners Egis, Mott MacDonald, and Weston Williamson + Partners. Together, we are delivering Accelerator, a major program of Pearson LIFT (Long-term Investment in Facilities and Terminals), Toronto Pearson's infrastructure development plan. This multi-year program is designed to address immediate passenger growth demands while preparing Canadas largest airport for the future of air travelincluding critical upgrades to airfield and infrastructure, greenhouse gas reduction initiatives, modernization of Terminals 1 and 3, and the creation of a world-class passenger experience.
JOB SUMMARY
The Communications & Stakeholder Coordinator is responsible for supporting internal and external stakeholders, and partner engagement activities for one of Canadas most high profile aviation infrastructure programs. Reporting to Communications leadership and working closely with the GTAA, this role helps ensure clear, timely, and accurate communication and process adherence with airport stakeholders. The Communications & Stakeholder Coordinator plays an important role in helping minimize disruption, supporting reputational management, and contributing to the overall public-facing success of the PACT program.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the execution of communication, stakeholder, and engagement activities for the PACT program in alignment with GTAA protocols and stakeholder requirements.
- Coordinate with the GTAAs communications team and other project partners to ensure consistent and approved public-facing messaging.
- Attend and track internal and external stakeholder meetings across design, construction, and operational phases to gather updates and maintain alignment on key messages, key outcomes and meeting minutes distribution.
- Assist with preparing materials for community, internal and stakeholder meetings, program updates, briefings, and public information sessions.
- Support planning and logistics for public engagement activities, including stakeholder events, open houses, special events, and terminal-facing communication initiatives.
- Coordinate day-to-day communications deliverables such as construction overview documentation, signage updates, digital content, mitigation materials (e.g., noise, traffic), and public safety messaging, and complaints protocol responses.
- Monitor and document inquiries, coordinating responses with GTAA teams to ensure timely, respectful, and accurate follow up.
- Draft and organize content for internal and external communications, including bulletins, reports, editorial pieces, web updates, and social media support.
- Track stakeholder interactions and maintain records related to sentiment, engagement, and potential risks according to project governance requirements.
- Support relationship-building efforts with key airport tenants, businesses, and community members affected by construction activities.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The position will be based at our office in Mississauga, Ontario, with regular visits to the Airport site as required. This position is 5 days per week with core hours of work between approximately 8:00am-5:00pm with 1 hour lunch or as agreed upon with your manager. All employees must complete a RAIC and Criminal background check upon joining the company.
DESIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, COMPETENCIES
- Diploma or degree in Communications, Public Relations, Business, or related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in stakeholder management, public affairs, or community engagementideally on infrastructure, aviation, or construction projects.
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information into clear public messaging.
- Understanding of construction-related impacts (noise, access, traffic) and how communications can support mitigation efforts, as well as promotion of the Accelerator progress.
- Experience supporting or coordinating engagement activities, such as open houses, community meetings, or stakeholder sessions.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-partner, high-security, and fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with GTAA or other airport operational environments is an asset.
- Organized, proactive, detail oriented, and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Valid drivers license and eligibility for RAIC clearance required.
