Casual Travel Nurse Program

Salary:
$48.41 – $58.40 per hour -equivalent to an annual salary of $94724 – $ exclusive of casual premium)

Note:
Travel from anywhere in Canada with flights and accommodation paid for. Rotation length is flexible at 2-, 3- or 4-week rotations.

What We Offer

  • Retention Allowance: Up to $16,500*must meet minimum hours requirement
  • Casual Premium
  • Education Allowance: Up to $3,850
  • Nurse in Charge (NIC) Allowance: Up to $6,000 per year for Community Health Nurses (Level 4)
  • Remote Certified Practice Allowance: Up to $6,000 per year ($23.00/day)
  • Weather-Protective Clothing Allowance: Reimbursement up to $1,200

The pay range listed is the minimum (Step 1) and maximum (highest Step) annual base salary based on full-time equivalent hours.

About The Role
As a Community Health Nurse, you will work in an expanded scope of practice to provide primary care, public health, health promotion, and emergency care for First Nations individuals, families, and communities, including after-hours on-call care. FNHA has nursing stations located throughout the province, serving both coastal and northern communities. Nursing stations are staffed by 2 to 4 nurses working in full-time, part-time, or casual positions. Nurses in nursing stations fly in and out of remote communities on a flexible 2-week, 3-week or 4-week rotation.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A bachelor's degree in nursing
  • Current registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
  • 2 years of emergency and/or critical care experience
  • Current CPR certification for Health Care Providers (HCP)
  • A valid Class 5 Driver's License
  • An understanding of First Nations cultural principles and protocols
