What We Offer

Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri | 7:30 am - 4:00 pm | 40 hours per week

Additional Working Conditions

The nature of the work will vary depending on the task and may be in or out of doors under varying conditions.
The work may involve work at heights or in tunnels.

Salary Range: $30.24 per hour

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to the Carpenter Shop Foreperson, the Carpenter provides skilled maintenance and construction work in the carpentry trade at the Journeyperson Level.

Work as a carpenter alone or as a member of a crew employed in maintenance or construction.
Prepare job estimates as to the quantity of labour and materials required to complete the job.
Allocate and supervise the work of Trades Helpers and/or Labourers.
Perform elementary duties of another trade to expedite the completion of the assigned task.
Apply appropriate safety precautions. Ensure minimum hazard to self and others.
Ensure the care and preservation of assigned tools and equipment.
Perform other related duties as required.

What You Bring

Formal basic education as required by the N.B. Department of Labour to meet Journeyperson standards for the Carpentry Trade.
Must possess a valid current license to practice the Carpentry Trade.
3+ years of diversified experience at the Journeyperson level in the Carpentry Trade with a concentration on maintenance.
Must be thoroughly familiar with the National Building Code and the New Brunswick Health and Safety Act.

Additional Strengths

Ability to read and interpret drawings and to work from sketches and diagrams.
Ability to work with other tradespeople and versatility in handling and use of tools of the trade.
